3 Tips For Buying A Car Online

It’s no surprise that car buyers spend more time online than ever. Modern car buyers prefer to do all their research and learn as much as possible before taking any time to visit a showroom or they just skip the wasted time at the showroom altogether and have their vehicle shipped home.

The guys and gals here at eimports have been selling vehicles online, to long distance buyers, since 2000 and have had the opportunity to serve over 15,000 online buyers. We know a little bit about online vehicle buying and we’ve given plenty of advice over the years.

There’s three basic things to research before making the decision to make your purchase  long distance:

  1. Know the car. Make sure you know exactly what options and features the prospective vehicle has. Ask all the questions necessary to make sure you’re comfortable with that.
  2. Know the history. Run the Carfax report, run the Autocheck History Report, get the service history if possible and speak to the dealer about the history. Ask questions and make sure you understand the answers.
  3. Know the dealer. Researching the dealer is just as important as researching the vehicle. How long have they been in business, do they buy and sell cars like the one that you’re interested in owning, do they have good Google reviews, good DealerRater reviews? Do they ship cars to customers regularly? How do they vet their transport companies? Are there any hidden fees associated with the purchase? How easy is it to do business with them?

Getting comfortable with these first three items is the first step to completing an online purchase.

As always, we’re here to help in any way we can. Please contact us if we can be of service to you.
